SNOAC Community Ad-Hoc Updates
Good Afternoon SNOAC Community,
I hope you have been well! As a reminder, our next meeting is Tuesday, November 2nd at 10am and will be available in a hybrid format (virtual and in person). Virtually you can access the meeting via Webex or in-person at Roseman University (*NEW ADDRESS* 3755 Breakthrough Way, Las Vegas, 89135). In the meantime, please see some community ad-hoc updates:
Clark County Regional Opioid Task Force
Clark County officials are looking for applicants to serve on the new regional Opioid Task Force. The duty of the task force is to review data related to opioid overdose deaths and near deaths to find gaps in community services related to the drug.
The following 15 appointments are needed for the task force:
One member who represents a social services agency in Clark County;
One member who represents the Clark County School District;
One member who represents the Department of Family Services of Clark County;
One member who represents the Department of Juvenile Justice Services of Clark County;
One member who represents the Southern Nevada Health District;
The Clark County coroner or his or her designee;
One member who represents law enforcement selected from a list of nominees submitted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department;
One member with experience in the field of public health epidemiology selected from a list of nominees submitted by the Southern Nevada Health District;
One member with experience in the field of primary health care;
One member with experience in the field of behavioral health;
One member with experience in the field of mental health;
One member with experience in the field of addiction medicine;
One member who represents a provider of emergency medical services in Clark County;
One member who represents public health educators or community health workers who represent or serve persons with limited English proficiency;
One member who represents a substance use disorder prevention coalition in Clark County.
Appointments to the task force are for a one-year term, which will expire at the end of 2024. Meetings will be held once every three months beginning in January.

Glowing Souls Festival
When: Sept 30th from 5pm to 8pm

About: Join TINHIH's Glowing Souls Festival at Sunset Park! We will have amazing raffles, food, and live music. Yogi Cosmin Mahadev Singh will provide a spiritual exercise followed by a gong bath. Addressing the Opioid Epidemic Summit: Collaborating Across the Continuum of Care
When: Tuesday, October 24th
Where: The Tuscany Suites and Casino (255 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89169)
Who should attend: Prescribers and providers of Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)
Cost: Free
About: This 1-day Summit is free to attend and will create an opportunity, through education and collaboration, for prescribers and providers of Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) to expand access to care in Nevada. The Summit will help participants identify access barriers and generate actionable next steps for addressing the opioid epidemic.
